I just gotta say thank you, Lorin.

There’s a moment of time that’s stood out in my life, as one where I’ve felt truly appreciated by an artist I’m a fan of. It always gives me the fuzzies, and you’re the one to blame.

The first music festival I ever attended was LIB in 2007, and you were scheduled to play. Those were the days, man (for me, anyways). I was on the burner forum, tribe.net, and I reached out to the community in hopes of catching a ride down there from Santa Cruz. In that post, “Figments” (I think that was your screen name, haha)/you posted that you hoped I would be able to make it. Such a simple little thing to say/write, but I appreciated it quite a bit.

Fast forward to Memorial Day weekend, I ended up driving down to the festival with my buddy. I think you were playing on Saturday night, and The Glitch Mob was playing before you. I wandered over to the dome, started watching G-Mob, and you know what caught my eye in the crowd? Your leg warmers, man. You rocked those orange leg warmers quite a bit back then, and I spotted those MoFo’s like a hawk (was a pretty small crowd back then to be fair - you weren’t even playing the main stage!! ;P ).

Being the fanboy I was, I stumbled up to you and wanted to say hi because I had never met you before. When I tapped you on the shoulder, you turned around, and before I could say anything, you just shout out, “YOU MADE IT!” and put your arm around my shoulder to give me a hug. I was so taken back by that, that I didn’t even know what to say. Mumbled some shit like, “Yeah… I did!” and walked away, I think, lol. I couldn’t fathom at the time that you would recognize me from that forum. I think I only posted like, one picture on there, ever. So for you to remember my face, remember my post about asking for a ride from weeks before, and put those together ON THE SPOT, was just so awesome and special to me. I’ll never forget it man, thank you.

Hope I run into you at the Eclipse! Two sets please? Two sets sounds good. :D

Longtime fan here and I’m looking forward to Fences.

First off, thank you for everything you do to support the Boys and Girls Clubs of America. Growing up, I went there every day after school, and I’ve got to think that doing that helped shaped me into a better person. So thanks!

I do have a question though: How are you feeling about the Cowboys going into the playoffs this year? If it was your decision, would you start Romo or Prescott?

I'm that guy that says I like his older catalog more, but it's all pretty epic. Have a soft spot for Mesmerizing the Ultra, if I had to pick one album!
