Thanks for doing the AMA Michael, I've got a couple questions.

  1. What do you think the time frame is for SpaceX or Orbital to have man rated launch systems? I know Elon keeps talking about it, but I'm itching to see the US have a launch system now that the Shuttle is a museum piece.

  2. We (humanity) should get serious about a colony on Mars/Moon, if only for disaster recovery purposes. Do you think it's cost that's causing people to drag their feet? What is the CSF doing towards this goal?

  3. I feels as though NASA isn't relevant anymore. I don't know if this is true or not, but what do you think NASA could do to really capture the Americans imagination again?
