How can I learn to raise my children properly or wisely? What books or lectures are useful?

How do you pray? Do you go to church?

Is it possible to reconcile Christianity and Buddhism? In your view, what are the intractable metaphysical agreements and conflicts between the two traditions?

(I am post-christian, my wife is post-buddhist, and I hope to walk the same spiritual path together and understand how to raise our children accordingly if we reconnect with our religions of origin i.e., 'rescue them from the belly of the whale').

I too was in the purgatory of nihilism for a long time. Becoming a father yanked me out of it, because I had no choice but to take responsibility. Because I sure as hell have no interest whatsoever in messing up my child's life.

How can we learn more about the "higher consciousness" upon which you advise that we predicate a relationship with religion and God? (I am referring to your answer during the Q&A at the recent Ottowa Public Library event.)
