I've been using DDG for a long time, but Google's search results are often still better. No dead links and search results based on my context (e.g. software development) - how will Search quality be improved in the future?

Should I make an effort to avoid x86 Intel chips in favor of ARM or Risc-V on my desktop to be less vulnerable?

I don't have special security needs, just the regular stuff. I don't want anybody to have access to my private data or my bank account / credit card, email ...

Are browsers sufficiently sandboxed as to not be vulnerable? I cannot control / audit all scripts that are downloaded when I browse the web. Who knows, maybe a trustworthy site delivers malicious scripts.

Also, on a OS level - the binaries I install via apt-get or dpkg have countless dependencies; I don't think I can be 100% sure that nothing bad will ever be included.

I disagree - I have tried it on other people's computers, on my own in incognito mode, from within fresh VMs. The results are consistent with my original post.
