LPN working in a Dialysis clinic here. Her port is covered by a clear Tegaderm dressing. OP, I'm sure you know, but as a hemodialysis patient with a catheter, you have a much higher risk (2-3x) of being hospitalized for infection than other patients. If you aren't already, read up on the CDCs current best practices and reccomendations on reducing chance of infection. Even within the clinic I work, we struggle with keeping all RNs, LPNs, and Techs on the same and reccomended protocol for handling CVCs and performing dressing changes.
