How much do you hate the Native Chiefs who demanded to keep the Residential schools when Canada was trying to shut them down many decades ago?

So lets skip my first question. Now that you learnt that Canada tried to shut them down several times over the last century and it was the natives who wanted to keep them open.

Does that change your opinion about whether or not Canada is the bad guy? Whether or not it's a 'whitewash' or whitey is the bad guy in general? Though not sure if you even had that opinion before anyway.
