Do you think it's possible to make (workplace) leaders more compassionate? Is there a compelling, capitalism-driven argument that gives managers an incentive to be this way?

Ah yes good point, I'm talking specifically about Compassionate Management https://hbr.org/2013/09/the-rise-of-compassionate-management-finally

I wish I could answer this with confidence, and I wish I could say "yes!!", but I've been in the workforce for only 3 years.

I can say personally that my workplaces have gotten more empathetic, but that's probably because of where I've chosen to work ;)

I'd like to think that my book can help with this empathy building by deconstructing what managers might see

You know... that's a really good point. I wrote my original question with the tone of "why don't managers show more empathy????" but this is indeed a two way street.

On another note, I got your book this week and I am so excited to read it. I found you on TikTok and was instantly hooked. Your advice is so spot on, almost feels like I was part of your 500+ interviews sharing my own career mistakes.

(Disclaimer: I am far from a marketing expert.) I think the occasional TikTok nowadays would help remind people you exist, or if you're trying to start a project for something new (e.g. diving into case studies that are applications of your ideas), but yeah that definitely trades off against the time it takes.

Back before your launch, the main thing that TikTok did (at least to me) was raise awareness for your book and the ideas that you're sharing. Now that your book is out in the wild, I feel like you'll have your hands full with all the buzz it generates, so your top of the funnel is probably plenty full.

Hope you enjoy your time with your baby!
