This woman sounds like a pinball of fucked-up self-unawareness. I am not saying that's bad or wrong at all, and if she is loving her life, cool. But, it's not a weird question to ask.

It's not a question (well I guess it is), but did your friends recognise your voice afterwards?

My mate had something similar done at about the same age . . . lower jaw cut and moved back. We were at different Universities so I hadn't seen him for a maybe 6mths and when he called me up, I had no idea who it was. It totally changed the quality of his voice. I imagine that having your jaw in a different position would make the sounds you make different, but I thought with such a "small" change (ie, the 1cm back thing) it wouldn't be that major!

Honestly, there is sooooooo much stuff available online these days and you don't have to spend a fortune. Also check out FXPHD for legit high level stuff that teaches actual industry techniques. Digital Tutors was decent for introductory stuff but never got to mid or high level.

Hey, by forcefully starving yourself, you are living the same life as Japanese animators! Congrats! Seriously, they don't get paid shit and the conditions are insanely bad. Worse than in the West, where it ain't crash hot.

Companies, especially in Japan, are generally nowhere near the level of tech awareness as those in the West. It's quite the eye opener when you go to live and work there.
