Do you think the government of Qatar or FIFA will acknowledge the true cost of hosting this in terms of all the dead workers from south asia, or will it be all swept under the rug and pretend nothing happened?

Couldnt this be solved via an auction mechanism for tickets? The problem is that the tickets are sold at a value that is discounted from the amount that fans are actually willing to pay, so the bots/brokers pocket that difference. If each ticket were sold at an auction rather than on a first come basis, they could sell for higher and take out the middlemen. Is that a correct way to think about it?

I get the goal of selling to the common people at a discount, but in reality it’s going at a discounted price to the bots, and we are still ending up with rich people in the good seats. At least via auction that money would go to the artists rather than the bot operators.
