Might just be the whole "care package" thing. Sure, you could probably buy great cookies down the street from that gourmet place, but it's not the same as that particular recipe you'd smell baking in the kitchen growing up.

Can't talk on it's quality in comparison because I'm shit at tasting coffees (tea and wines are my speciality) but I would buy a small bag of coffee from my home island every month whole living alone in college. Always took a while to arrive. Better than the cappuccinos the beverage class could make? Probably not. Fought the homesickness? Definitely.

I'm a college grad who's really struggling to break into the workforce. I'm interested in hospitality administration and management, but often it's said you need to work up the ladder in those industries especially. I've tried, but when I have, it's led me to depression and suicidal thoughts. (Yes, I am in therapy.) Is it possible to break into managerial positions without "working your way up"? I always see a lack of managers everywhere and I want to help, but I'm at a loss on how to move forward unless it's by managing my own business.
