Was there a lot of competition for Viserys role? How did the audition go? What was your reaction when you found out you got the part?

I wonder, how is it to decide to audition for a character which is so clearly unpleasant? You are such a nice guy in normal life (as I can see), how easy it is to "become" a total creep for the role?
