This may have been asked already, but it seems counterintuitive to NOT use both the LATCH system and a seatbelt together. Why should they be used independently? I guess I feel that the LATCH it safer, but my kid is on the weight limit cusp of going with just the seatbelt in his convertible car seat, so I use both thinking it offers extra protection. Can you explain?

Okay I have another question. So when they say to use one system or the other, does that include the latch behind the seat? So I installed my kids' carseat and used the seat belt, but what about the latch behind the seat. Can that be used with the seat belt? It really stabilizes the shit out of the car seat so I am compelled to use it, but your original argument may stand with that one. Please clarify and thanks in advance!
