I am aware of this issue. Australia has also had a sketchy record on helping its intrepreters.

Why did our side in the War on Terror abandon these people? There can't have been that many of them that is was some huge financial drain.

It's also an idea with popular political support, it is not controversial to take care of these people.

So how did they get so left behind?

Having experienced hunger and discomfort do you appreciate today things like a good meal or comfortable bed that bit more?

Do you get into a warm comfortable bed at night sometimes and go, wow this is sooo much better than that time I had to sleep on the ground.

Do you eat a great meal and enjoy it because you remember being hungry?

Or on a day to day level do you kind of forget that deprivations you experienced?
