I had stage three testicular cancer in high school. I don't know what to say other than I've been through something similar and you are a trooper. Its funny, I also relied heavily on music to get through the shitty times. I'm almost two years clean now, chemo ended in April of 2015. I wish you the best of luck and thank you for sharing.

I went through my treatment feeling kind of alone. I had family and friends to help me, but not once did I meet someone going through the same thing as myself. My question is: do you know of any systems in place to help kids with cancer find each other?

Thank you for your quick answer. I read through more of your replies since I posted my question. The similarities in our experiences are eerily striking. Its reassuring now to know that other people have been through fairly similar problems, but I wish I knew at the time. I've also contacted my hospital a few times to try to organize something. They have a pediatric department, but since I was on the border (as many of us teens are) I preferred getting the more professional care that was available at the regular hospital. I haven't yet made any progress in creating a network for people to meet, though I have gone to the pediatric department a few times as a guest where I taught some kids how to play and enjoy music. It was a really touching experience. Please let me know if you make any progress. I'd love to help if it is in any way possible.
