I have the same exact issue in Taiwanese schools. I'm just going to quit, it's an awful job which isn't worth the money.

Luckily I'm going to quit at the end of the summer. I don't know how anyone could do this job. I have a coworker who has been here for over 10 years at the same school. He doesn't even talk to the boss, and he gets paid less than people who have been in the country for two weeks. I don't understand people but I guess they just want a simple life far away from where they were from, even if the working conditions are subpar.

Luckily I'm a programmer, and I have money saved, so I can fall back and not have to work while I'm stuck here for the next six months. But if I had to work at this job for another six months... or even another year, I'm not sure I could actually mentally make it.

I actually really like Taiwan though. If you can get a job in southern Taiwan it's really laid back, the money is great, and the people are super friendly. Chinese isn't really that hard to learn how to speak as well.
