Who is the most interesting student you've come across at Make School?

Margaret! Wow! I am a very big fan, and thought Year of the Flood was brilliant in its concurrent similarity and comment on our modern world as well as the future. So..thank you.

My question is about how writing such as yours can move to action. The change that our world needs is on such an extraordinary level that at this point, it seems the only way to conceive of it is in science fiction. It's not incremental, and it's hard to imagine it coming within our political system. I have a number of my own ideas, but what are yours? Is there no real cure? What is the step after we've identified the problem and said "yes, we're fucked"? (And if you really don't know..well, that's pretty understandable.)
