Was your approval of the 2013 Assault Weapons Ban based solely on the media fear mongering? I ask this because it seems that it bans weapons based on aesthetics, rather than function. For example, barrel shrouds are banned. Their purpose is to prevent hand burns, but some find them to be scary looking.
