Hey there.
I have a family history of parasomnia. My sister, mom, grandfather, and great-grandfather all had/have it. Each of us have different levels of extremes. For example my sister has it very bad (and will drive while sleeping), my mom barely had it, and my grandfather used to sleepwalk all the time (but not dangerously like my sister).
I, personally, have a history of parasomnia (regarding sleepwalking and sleepsex... Sometimes sleepwalking for hours after drinking) and insomnia (RANDOMLY being unable to sleep). Usually these triggers are caused by stress and/or alcohol (usually the former). Sertraline has stopped the majority of my sleepwalking symptoms, but the insomnia persists.
The question I have is, are my symptoms clinically relevant enough to get a sleep study? I know you're not my doctor, but I'd like your anecdotal opinion on the information I provided.
