I think that is more an issue of what is available on the black market, if guns are more available that is used, if a box of granades is smuggled in than organised crime groups will use that instead.

I'm from the Netherlands, and we have had more granade activity here than usual, but it is not an issue for annyone that are not mob nightclub owners or cocaine dealers

Try comparing murder rates per capita from Sweden and the USA and check back afterwards
