You've already closed up, but I am an archivist processing the photograph collection of a (now closed) newspaper. Looking at how the materials came in to us, there is a clear order to how the photographs were kept, but I know that a more granular organization of the photos would be more useful to researchers. I'm stuck, because sorting them by an artificial subject of my choosing destroys their original context. Normally, I fall on the side of access, but in this case, I'm not sure that's the right way to process this collection. Any suggestion?
