thats not autonomy, thats full on independence, besides i dont feel money is a factor in autonomy, there are even independent nations, that use another nation's currency, and besides, money being used has to mean something, i dont know how willing people would be in accepting payment in a kurdish currency.

"free from external control" i think you fundamentally misunderstand what autonomy entails, you are confusing it with independence. its not absolute freedom, its a limited decentralization on most domestic issues, the Syrian govt would still be in charge of foreign policy as well as currency. that is how "autonomy" works in every autonomous place around the world.

inflation and deflation is not all in how value is determined. it is also determined by who is issuing the currency, and who is willing to accept it as valid payment for a service. (im talking about fiat currency that is, if it was hard currency, i.e gold coins it would be a different matter)

the same way autonomy works in every other place in the world, like Tatarstan or puerto rico or guan etc, all autonomous, but same currency as the country giving them autonomy.
