Did you go out and drink on weekends? If so did you drunkenly climb up the tree at the end of the night? Or just crash at a friend's house?

Dude I feel like that's a good thing in this context haha

I'd like to jump in here as another guy with pectus carinatum. I'm 20 years old and it sounds like my condition is similar to pidgey89.

I have a (now) reasonably mild case of asymmetric pectus carinatum. I noticed it when I started going through puberty and it was definitely a lot more pronounced during that time. As I have begun to stop growing and my chest has filled out a bit it has subsided to the point that it isn't too noticeable.

I definitely respect Jazza's decision to get a brace, it is most certainly something I have seriously considered. Probably the main reason I didn't look too far into it was due to living remotely and the cost of travelling to see a specialist. My GP (general practice doctor) didn't seem to know too much about it.

It did affect my self esteem from time to time, but I was lucky to have pretty good friends, and once they'd seen it and knew what it was, they didn't care any more. Plus I quickly adapted the mindset that it's my body so the only opinion about it that really matters is my own (or a doctor's, if there are issues, of course). I mean, sure, I did get bullied a little. My go to was to say I was part of a secret government project where they installed a laser cannon in my chest. I found getting in on the 'joke' diffused the bullies objective pretty quickly. I don't mind making a joke at the expense of myself every now and then.

I'm pretty sure working out and getting a bit of muscle on your pecs would definitely make it less noticeable, if at all. These days it actually makes me look like a have bigger pecs than I actually do, which I'm not complaining about haha.

But yeah man, sure sometimes I would like to have a "normal" chest, but at the end of the day it's what you make of it!

Again though, big respect to Jazza's for doing something that makes him happy! I can't say I wouldn't have gone the same path, had it been more available to me.

Do you think it's possible that someone could request it? Say, they ask you to take a Viagra or something? I'm not sure how the ethics and everything works with that type of thing, but an erection is still part of the human form, right?

Thanks for the answer! I realise it would probably be quite out of the ordinary, I was just curious if it happened. You're doing a really good job of this AMA too, very informative. Thanks for your time!
