This is so interesting - what is the purpose of the observational hours in the cockpit?

That makes sense. I feel like that is true for a lot of jobs and companies - sharing and understanding another department and what they do would greatly benefit the flow and efficiency of many places, but I think until there is less competitiveness and hierarchy in most workplaces, that will be less likely to happen.
