I'm very active with bird hunting dogs, so I know a little bit about innate and selected abilities. I have seen dozens and dozens of times a dog that has absolutely no training whatsoever be put in a wild bird situation and point, hold and retrieve just exactly like they are supposed to. They do this because we have selected for that behavior over many generations. Why is this any different for pit bulls?

I've lived in Kentucky all my life. I'm from Eastern Kentucky, and I've lived in Lexington and Louisville as well. People are pretty much the same everywhere. People in Eastern Kentucky generally have less money (but they need less money). A sizable portion of each population are complete fucking morons, just like everywhere else in the world. The major difference to me is that the culture of Eastern Kentucky seems to prioritize the dominant church's opinion above all else. Each individual person is just as likely to have dumb-fuck opinions as anywhere else. The difference is because the default is the church, they're more empowered to vocalize it and feel good about it. I've never liked or agreed with the stereotype of the ignorant Kentuckian. There are quality people and worthless people everywhere.

Honest question, because we always wondered this when I was in school. Our school was one of the firsts in the modern school shooting national news cycle back in 1992. Because of this, we were also one of the first to install metal detectors and make a big show of keeping guns out of schools. THEN they give us an SRO, a little 150 pound woman with a full complement of weapons to walk around the school. My question is this... what is to keep some little bastard from braining you with a brick and shooting the place up with your gun?

If the businesses considered waitstaff a team they would pay them a salary.
