(not the person you're directing this question to, but I've had a lot of family/friends ask me this)

My advice is to tell people that you're doing it for health reasons, or on doctor's advice, and then change the subject. Most people will be cool with it, it's pretty well known (now) that a lot of meat in the diet isn't great for health.

Even reducing meat consumption does help, and is a great start :)

Semi-related to this question: I work in health research in Canada, and I would really like to get more active in the animal model/animal testing activism. I'm an abolitionist through progress (meaning, I support abolition, but it will take time). Do you know of any good resources for someone "on the inside" of health research?
