I bought a Meile Complete C3 and it initially worked great. After a year it started to stink really bad when we used it. We used fresh bags and replaced the filters regularly. It still stunk so we sent it back to Meile for repair. It came back good but the suction doesn't seem to be as good. I've replaced the bags, cleaned the rollers and replaced the filters but I'm convinced the suction isn't great. (We have a cat and I vacuum 2/3 times a week in an average sized 2 bedroom house).

How often should we be replacing a unit of this quality? It was quite expensive and we've only had it for approximately 15 months.
