Can you talk to the following concern?
Although a carbon tax+div may reduce CO2 releases in the short-med term, is there not a risk that the public may be unwilling to support future zero-carbon initiatives if it directly results to receiving a smaller personal dividend?
Policies like this may be well meaning and effective-ish at the beginning, but can lead to near unrevocable dependencies in the future. (E.g Corn-ethanol in the US. )
