Not a question, but just a congratulations to you on getting out.

My parents and my uncle and aunt were in the Church. My aunt and uncle were in Sea Org, and, as my mother says, were "on the boat" with L. Ron Hubbard. I don't know if they hung out with him, but it seems likely they at least bumped into him or got yelled at by him at some point.

When my aunt and uncle got permission to leave Sea Org, somebody decided to retroactively rescind that permission, and had them "disconnected." My mom and dad left the church after they were told that they wouldn't be allowed to talk to my aunt an uncle ever again.

That was all in 1979, or prior to that. Two years ago, the Seattle branch of the Church called my home looking for my mother. She had been out of the church for over thirty years. It totally creeped me out.

Okay, here's a real question: My Aunt got my Uncle to leave Sea Org with her because she hardly ever got to see her husband, and so many people were sleeping around with each other, she was afraid she'd lose him. This was in the 1970's, and they were on the boat with L. Ron Hubbard. Did you ever observe this kind of thing going on?

Well, this brings me back. Wrote a ticket sorting and counting system for a dry cleaners in Monument, Colorado, circa 1986 on a Vic-20 with only 4K RAM, but it had the floppy drive connected to it.

My very first money-making programming job.

What about for other news stories? Ever felt like you're in danger?

I just watched the part one video. Pretty interesting.

As a journalist, do you ever feel like you've put yourself into a dangerous situation?
