As a brown girl, just seeing you on TV makes me and my existence feel validated. When I first saw the "Kaling International" logo after your first show, I nearly cried. It meant so much to me to see a woman of color at the forefront of a show, and not just as a best friend or a sidekick. On top of that, to know you were also the genius behind the entire thing just inspired me so much. Thank you for making me feel like I exist. Feel free to answer any/all/none (but please not none?) of these questions.

Career questions:

  • Which part of "The Mindy Project" are you most proud of? (Your writing, the fact that it's your own show, your acting, that people are loving it, etc?)

  • Would you ever consider rebooting your blog, Things I've Bought That I Love? Because I love to shop. And I need it.

  • Will you be writing another book?

Other questions:

  • Glitter or polka dots?

  • How sad are you about Ryan Gosling's decision to take a break from acting?

  • When will you be accepting applications for new BFFs? What are the minimum requirements?

Thank you so much for your time!

P.S. My warrior name is Mindy Cake-ling. One time you favorited one of my tweets and it was the best thing ever, and I totally wrote something about how awesome you are and how your show has impacted me. So thank you.

I haven't read the books, but I watch the show religiously. I wanted Irri and Dany to get together. I thought they had such a sweet friendship! Would you have been opposed to that relationship developing?

How do you feel about the female characters on the show? I feel like GoT has some of the strongest portrayals of women on television right now, and they really make the show worth watching. I think it's hard to find female characters who are as complicated and nuanced as those on GoT.

Do you watch the show yourself? If so, favorite character(s)?

Lastly, what's your dream role?

Thank you so much for doing an AMA! <3
