Hi, Lisa.

Thanks for doing this AMA.

In your opinion, what does the divide between the House and Senate results of the 2018 midterm say about the prospects for the Democratic party in the 2020 presidential election? If presidential results are tabulated at a state-level, then don't Democrats face the same urban-rural divide that was so remarkable in the recent election?

They have to be careful because to claim the President "lies" is to ascribe an intent to mislead. If it can be claimed that Trump believes what he is saying, then he is not "lying" technically. He's just ignorant and spouting falsehoods.

Opening Arguments, a legal podcast for non-lawyers, did an episode on this very subject: https://openargs.com/oa618-the-case-that-could-allow-republicans-to-steal-2024/

Hi, Sylvia. An NPR junkie here. My four-year-old son even knows how to say your name, having heard it closing out your stories.

Anyway... I was wondering:

1) Do you think Pope Francis' emphasis on social justice, tolerance and social justice will alienate the more conservative wing of the Catholic church? 2) How could those factions impede his efforts to effect change? 3) Why has the church become so sclerotic in its views over the past decades? 4) Do you have any insight into why his predecessor chose to retire?

Grazie per tutto il vostro lavoro bene. Ciao!
