When you gave birth did they bring the baby to you to hold? They normally do this so the mother can form a bond, but in your case I suppose they didn't want that? Did you form a bond? Were the genetic parents at the birth? Was it hard to give the baby away afterwards? Was the whole experience worth it?

Just chiming in... It seems like your GP dropped the ball here. If they suspected cancer you should have been urgently referred and seen a specialist within 2 weeks on the NHS. The fact that they thought it was going to take weeks for a referral tells me your GP wrongly assumed it wasn't a serious issue.

I don't know if you can claim compensation or anything, but it might be worth making a complaint to your GP for the purposes of ensuring your situation doesn't happen to someone who is passive about it or doesn't have £850 to spare.
