Hey Peter, long time follower of your work. A couple of questions.

Much of your writing / speaking revolves around economics, the problems and the solutions. I'm curious to hear from you about the politics. You've often said something along the lines of "most —if not all— of our problems are technical in nature", seemingly implying that for a society composed of technically-minded people politics is a non-issue. This makes sense if we assume a fundamentally objective world where any question has one and only right answer. My question here is, what about the inherent subjectivity of human perceptions? what about differences of priority or value? Must these be subsumed in favor of order and progress? or have I mischaracterized your view here, in which case, what is the ideal decision-making process you see being paired with an RBE?

And now, more specifically about you values, automation is a big topic everywhere including your work, and a lot gets said about 'preparing' for all this automation which seems to be perceived as inevitable. I think you'll agree that surely a can does not imply an ought here, so my question is, how much automation is too much? Or better yet, what is the ideal level of automation in human communities that still allow for enough participation and engagement (which, at the individual level, is so vital for the socialization process as well as the sense of 'belonging' or 'mattering' we all need to experience)?— Or is that a misguided concern?
