The grammar is no more difficult than German for the most part. In fact because there is no word 'the' in Russian, I'd say that parts of it are easier.

The tense part of it is easier than French or English because there are less ways of taking about the past and future. In Russian, there is only on future tense and only two past tenses (I think, it's been a while since I thought about it like that).

Once you move on to more complex topics like perfective and imperfective verb aspects, expect your head to explode some what.
