Salaam Mansoor, how do you feel about the US's war on terror and constant killing of Muslim civilians overseas? I don't mean for this to sound combative, but how did you personally justify to yourself serving the US military in light of its horrendous track record?

The military is acting as representatives of the US government officially. These fringe radicals are just that, fringe. They do not represent anyone from the faith.

Yes invading countries on false pretenses, drone strikes killing innocent civilians, drone strike to kill an American citizen, reports of rape and sexual assault by officers against prisoners and civilians. Totally debatable on how horrendous their actions often were.

As a father yourself now, how do you plan on heping your child(ren) avoid some of the issues you went through in regards to racism and cultural expectations from others around you?
