I have arthritis in my left hip due to EDS, and when it gets bad I get pain shooting down my left from my hip. I always thought arthritis only affected the joint and not surrounding tissue; can you tell me what’s up?

Do you struggle a lot with doctors not knowing what they’re talking about? I have a rare degenerative genetic condition myself (Ehlers Danlos Syndrome) and 99% of doctors write it off as depression, faking, or “not my problem” even when they’re my PCP and should probably learn something about the person they’re treating. I imagine it’s different having a visible condition (mine is invisible and doesn’t show up on standard blood tests) but do you still face medical discrimination and such?

How do you keep all the vocab separate? I’m a native English speaker learning French and Portuguese with a background in some Spanish, and I mess them up all the time.

Yeah, I’ve been checking in with my therapist a lot, and we have a deal where I can write down what I eat but not the calorie amounts (I’m not actually allowed to know those, I check the nutrition labels and ingredients for the health stuff but skim over the calories, I’ve gotten really good at it and I don’t even see them anymore), it’s just the obsessing over food again is hard. Sort of wish you had a magic cure all answer, but if I’ve learned anything from my anorexia (and other physical and mental health issues) it’s that there never is a magic cure all. Thanks anyway, your support is very appreciated, and I’m so proud of you for breaking the stigma and being able to talk about this and make a whole movie without getting triggered. You’re so strong and such an inspiration, thank you <3

I’ve been in recovery for three or so years but lately I’ve had to limit what I eat and write everything down for health reasons, and it’s triggering a relapse. Do you have any advice?
