Haven't seen that particular documentary but one pattern that I've noticed when it came to Nazi documentaries is that they treat it as though the camp guards and perpetrators were this foreign obscure thing that "just happened" or happened because of materialistic reasons. My understanding from me doing my fair share of reading and looking into the psychology behind it is that it is very much ingrained in humans to do that. For instance there's a very high chance that if you lived in Nazi Germany at the time, you have a high enough of a chance of becoming a Nazi.
