Thanks for the detailed response. I currently work with children in a one-on-one type setting and love it. People ask me all the time why I don't pursue a career in teaching and while I've thought about it, the entire education system just seems way too overwhelming and unrewarding. I hope you find a new calling!!

I think that's the biggest thing for me, is knowing I'd probably eventually "burn out." I love children and I enjoy working with them. I'd hate for a job to ruin that for me. Teaching is a thankless job and I am so appreciative of the good teachers who stick with it and don't let the stress of the job take away their passion for it. They're truly unsung heroes.
