I'd imagine it'd go something like this:
"You're a palaeontologist?! AWESOME! What's your favourite dinosaur?"
"I uh, I don't study dinosaurs..."
"Wait what, but you're a palaeontologist...what do you study then?"
"Foraminifera" :D
"What the hell are they? This is boring, I'm outta here!"
