Here’s a good article explaining it. Basically you rank the people you’re voting for from most wanted to least wanted to win. It’s a good thing to have because it generally gets more people to vote. The person they want to win might not have a chance at winning, but they’re on the ballot so you can still go show them your support by voting for them.
