What are you talking about? Why would anyone prefer to be an AA over a CRNA? There are far fewer places you can work, you have significantly less independence, and you make the same amount of money

Being an AA is a great job, but from what I’ve seen the only reason it survives is because of the pool of med-school applicants using it as a backup. There aren’t any obvious benefits over CRNA.

Most of these residents will never become an anesthesiologist. If they do they’ll realize that they would never want to go back to a world without mid levels
