Oh man, I’m local & while I haven’t attended for a while, this would honestly get me to come back, so count me in!

Frankly, if for no other reason than to come at a time when the sun ISN’T trying to kill us. It’s so damn hot, I haven’t wanted to dress up in anything for fear of heatstroke.

I work in event planning and weddings are basically the worst — the idea of an 8 week one just made me physically shudder, so thanks for that! :P

What methods/tools do you use for keeping organized? I know I personally live off of spreadsheets & automated to-do lists (remind me of X task on Y date).

From a friend who did this for her wedding: if you get red ones, make sure to clear them off of the sheets before you go to sleep.

Otherwise you wake up looking like you've committed murder -- those little buggers STAIN.

I actually liked your answer, it made me laugh .. I had a customer at a prior job bitch about the high turnover at my place of work, how we clearly couldn't keep people, etc -- pissed off because I didn't recognize him the first time I met him. Finally, at the end of a 10 min tirade, I snapped and informed him curtly that I had been born the month that the place opened. The way the light faded from his eyes as he was reminded how damn old he was is something I will forever treasure.

I realize this is a late comment but I wanted to make sure this is said - keep in mind that all therapists are NOT equal, and even when a therapist or therapy regime may be good it might not be the one that's good for you. Don't be afraid to tell a therapist that what they're doing isn't working, and if possible for you don't be afraid to switch to someone else. It's normal not to "click" with the first one you have, or the second, or the third.

Although it's a different issue, my wife has found through lots of trial and error that the clinical therapists with actual degrees tend to be much, much better than the ones who are just "licensed counselors," so if whoever you are seeing isn't working out consider their credentials. (Not to say the LCs aren't good; I have had a much better experience than my wife, but I also have less severe issues than she does so YMMV.)

Think about the format, too; I struggled a lot until I switched to Betterhelp, which is an online format, and even then found that I really couldn't do video (I spent too much time focused on my appearance). Once I switched to phone appointments I found I could relax and actually TALK about things.

Also, it's never too late. At 35, I have just now begun my journey into FINALLY seeking help. I have struggled with depression literally as long as I can remember. I don't remember there ever being a time that I didn't hate myself. But I started therapy a year ago, and while I still struggle (even more so due to the pandemic), it has helped me get to a place where I finally have the strength to seek out a psychiatrist for medication.

It's never too late, you often have to try different things, and often it only helps in tiny little ways that build over time. Don't give up.
