Seems to be a trend with AMAs nowadays.

What gave you the idea to write Superhighway? Is there any backstory that didn't make it into the comic?

Facebook began as a site for colleges; I don't think it's ever really been a "teen" thing. Maybe you're right and the teens of today will never join Facebook, but I think it's more likely that they'll join later, when we actually provide a service that's useful to them.

As for "leaving in droves", I don't think people are deactivating accounts en masse --- AFAIK the number of teens has decreased because teens grow up and become adults, and we don't count them as teens any more.

You can adjust the settings on the source photo (which will hide the likes, comments, and the full picture), but the square thumbnail making up your profile picture is still public. You can (and should!) use the "view as" tool to see what information on your profile is publicly available.

(we don't do a great job of communicating this...)

Is the recipient using a phone? If so, they're probably getting your profile pic from their phone's contacts list, and their contacts list is getting your profile pic from us.

Profile pictures and cover photos are always considered public information --- that's just the way they are.
