Was the ACA ever designed to help the middle class that wants affordable health insurance or was it just an expansion for those on MediCaid that already got free health care?

If you make over $48k a year, you're screwed. And if you're self-employed, you're beyond screwed.

Before ACA, I was paying a $100 a month for a $1,000 deductible. Now I'm up to almost $800 a month for a $5,500 deductible. No health issues, haven't been to a doctor in about 8 years.

My biggest concern with the Betty and Barney Hill case is her credibility afterwards.

My understanding is Betty Hill claimed to then have HUNDREDs of sighting and close encounters after the events she described. She was then seeing something like one a day, decades later.

Do you have anything to say in regards to that? It just seems to point to something like mental illness.

I read an interesting case study on it by Karl Pflock.

I think the parts I didn't find all that credible were the way the beings and ship were described. A very 1950's, B movie idead of aliens. Like a flying saucer with windows and the aliens looking out.

"In his 1990 article "Entirely Unpredisposed," Martin Kottmeyer suggested that Barney's memories revealed under hypnosis might have been influenced by an episode of the science fiction television show The Outer Limits titled "The Bellero Shield", which was broadcast about two weeks before Barney's first hypnotic session. The episode featured an extraterrestrial with large eyes who says, "In all the universes, in all the unities beyond the universes, all who have eyes have eyes that speak." The report from the regression featured a scenario that was in some respects similar to the television show."

If there are people that truly don't want a treatment, they certainly can opt out.

My guess is the overwhelming majority want at least the option of a cure.

Selfish of people that aren't as effected not wanting a cure for everyone.

I guess it's just disappointing to hear because the account she gave (along with her husband) sounded very credible. Even found physical evidence on the car.

But you're left not knowing if a real experience maybe "broke" her, or if she was already suffering these delusions to begin with and the whole thing was imaginary.
