I have to say, I find this experiment very interesting and I'll be following closely. I'm very happy and excited for you. It's something I thought about myself before, but I'm not in a position to do it without leaving my job.

Have you thought much about what fresh perspective you might gain from this experience?

I think you are old enough to remember what media was like prior to the internet. I think doing this will show strongly how much media has been changed by the internet, even when it's not directly covering tech. I've spent weeks travelling for work, during which time I had limited internet connectivity and what I found was how unimportant a lot of "tech news" felt to me after even so short a break. I think you'll feel this effect even more so and I suspect it'll be a transformational personal experience for you.
