It is when the camera is focuses tightly on two people. As opposed to a close up, which is one person, or a wide shot, which encompasses the entire "scene."

Thank you Reddit. Thank you so so much for upvoting my question enough to have it answered. Colbert is one of my heros as an actor. I am a young actress in New York right now and everything he said just helped me immensely. I really hope it can help every young person in any profession.

How do we know if we live in a place with this kind of pollution? How can we prevent our children from being effected? Does wearing face masks or nostril filters actually help?

Did you have to sorta pretend to be into these things on the phone? Did he believe you liked the same things? Why on earth would he tell you all of this? Did he think it was off the record?
