Is it ok if I chime in? I'm not the OP but have escorted and been in sugar relationships, most of whoch were arranged through website services. Over a number of years I observed that sugar daddies will always fill their profiles with intentions of spoiling a special someone, taking us on vacations, building a deep relationship or mentorship... etc. In reality, of the dozens I have spoken to more personally, what every one of them has been looking for is a much younger, loyal, discrete, unprotected, personal escort who will be on call for them, for sex only, in exchange for much less than what you can make escorting. No dinners, no showing you off (since they are often married) Add to that, the fact that as an escort you can see several clients per day or week... once I joined an escort agency I never went back to sugaring.

Hey I am not OP but I have something to say if that's ok. I have also worked across the spectrum of sex work.

In America there was a bill recently called SESTA or FOSTA? Something like that? Intended to prevent human trafficking by eliminating advertiaing for it in online forums. What it actually did, was wipe out most websites related to sexual services includimg craigslist (& similar formats) where many advertised their services. Now that they can't advertised, loads of workers have had to go back to working the streets which is obviously far more dangerous for them. In addition, the sites where sex workers gathered to discuss bad experiences with clients, safety issues, etc (to keep each other safe!) These sites also got shut down, making it very hard for sworkers to screen potential clients. There have been studies showing a rise in violence against sex workers, since the very day this was passed. Bad customers know people are more vulnerable, and they use it to their advantage. The grossest part of this is, they were shown the data to prove that this would not nexccessarily be an effective way to curb trafficking which, but would only hurt current workers, and passed it anyway.

As a final slap in the face, I am not even from the USA, but since the websites are all down or hidden now, in my country and others they are being hurt by this too!!

I am nearby to Toronto. Our city is much smaller but has confirmed cases in the double digits. As of last night, some things that are still open in my own neighbourhood are: eb games (gamestop), michaels (art & craft supplies), a toddler & baby clothing store, dollar stores, weed store, beer & liquor stores (indefinetly, they say. I know this is canada, but...) furniture stores, realtors office, variety stores, telemarketing office, car dealership, sewing/repair shop, shoe store, 2 hair salons, and multiple tim hortons locations are "take out only" but each have large crowds sticking around in the parking lot to socialize and smoke. Please note this is only what I have seen in my half-hour walk. Just in my immediate neighbourhood. Are these really all essential services right now? No one needs to buy a couch or shoes today. Send those people the f*ck home.

Ooookay got it. They used to ask that one here in Canada too. I did not catch the sarcasm, didn't know why that would matter unless you are sleeping with grandma??
