I scrambled for a friend who did an unofficial attempt that at the time was the world record. http://www.speedcubing.com/records/recs_misc_marathon24.html (Andrew Kang)

He also got second place at World's in '07.

He has backed off competitively since then, It's pretty crazy to see 7 second AVERAGES now. I remember when he got a six second solve and flipped out.

Have you ever met or heard of Dr. Robert Sapolsky? I am a huge fan of his and have always wondered what other people in the scientific community think of him.

^ one of many talks he has done. He'd be perfect for the show!

That's awesome!!! What do you think has caused all these faster times??? Have there been crazy advancements in the method? I never got passed beginners method (with one or two F2L algs) and had a fastest time of 12 seconds (probably lucky, can't remember) with an average ~16 seconds.

Edit: I saw you did blindfold too, did you ever meet Chris Hardwick? We've hung out with him a few times when he was in town for competitions, and listening to him talk about his blindfolding (and overall memory techniques) was mesmerizing.

Thank you guys for making such a hilarious, unique, and often thought provoking film.

I have several things I'd like to ask, but I think the biggest one is this:

To Taika, Jemaine, and Rhys (because his role was extra spooky),

You guys are dealing with a very dark and scary subject matter, Vampires and the Living Dead. Was there any time during the writing/filming that you just had to take a break because things became too spooky?

I was thoroughly spooked out in just the first 12 minutes. Thank god for the PAUSE button!
