Assuming Stoicism is your favourite philosophy, what's your second favourite philosophy? Or to put it another way - for folks that have come to Stoicism, and realised that they like philosophy, what would be a good next topic to learn about, and to complement a basic knowledge of Stoicism?

That's a long and thoughtful reply, thank you. Socrates is a great answer. Cheers and thanks for you time!

There were Stoics before Aurelius, and there were Stoics after and there will be Stoics in future, and they each have their own unique thoughts, and their own take on Stoicism. It is a living subject (that's pretty much written into the texts). What's to stop individuals having new thoughts that advance or improve Stoicism itself, or even aid in other people's understanding of Stoicism by providing differing viewpoints, or making it more digestible?

There is a subset of Christian folks that honestly think they only need a single book to guide them through their lives. Applying a similar attitude to the handful of ancient Stoic texts is a bad idea for exactly the same reasons.
