This. I'm working on earning a degree in I.T. and while I love my guy friends and peers, it's very hard to find ladies with similar interests and experiences. Also, there this small constant pressure that if you fail or do something wrong, you're letting down your whole gender, not just yourself.

I loved that cartoon as well! The gang's personalities were so much more distinct than in the original series, especially Daphne and Fred. I'll never understand some of the hate it got.

Ah, I love it when writers know exactly where they want a show to go but still give it room to breathe and grow!

I think what she means is a more active pursuit of encouraging women to join STEM fields. A lot of people want to encourage more women and girls to get involved and a lot of those people are men. I think those men would qualify as allies to women in tech.

I think this extends to teaching, encouragement and healthy criticism of a woman's body of work in tech as well, since I get the feeling that a lot of men hear "Ally to Women in tech" and feel like all they can do is pat a girl on the head and give praise, without feedback, but the truth is that everyone's work deserves to be analyzed, judged and improved, no matter what gender they are.
