my cat loves it when my mother plays the Piano. It doesn't matter the genre being played, I think he just loves being bathed in sound. He will often lay on top of the subwoofer when we play movies too. Short of playing music at a level that will damage their/or your own hearing I think it should be fine as long as you have a cat that doesn't want anything other than quiet.
